If you have never experienced a Murder Mystery Theatre, now is the time to find out what others know and enjoy. If you have been, you know how fun it was and enjoyed a great meal.  Check out our new schedule for 2012.

Hill Prairie Winery is proud to host a series of Mystery Theatres throughout the year.  Our guests enjoy a relaxing setting in our rustic 100 year old barn, along with a delicious multi-course meal and top entertainment.  For those of you with talent to share, you'll love the audience participation.  Please note that you must call in for tickets at least one week in advance (217) 635-9900.  Thank you.

How the Mystery Theatre Works

You may purchase your ticket at the Winery for $45.00 (plus tax) which includes a great meal and the price of the entertainment.   The main fare is generally a steak or prime rib with a variety of delicious sides and tremendous desserts.  Drinks are purchased separately.

Plan to arrive no later than 6:00 pm or so as seating is assigned.  You are free to sample our wines in the wine tasting room and you may purchase a bottle or glass of wine, or your favorite beer, to enjoy during the program and the meal. You can also visit our gift shop or enjoy the views of our winery and peaceful outdoor setting before the show.  During this advance time, the evening's actors may mingle with the crowd and seek volunteers to play some of the short parts.  This is strictly voluntary and adds to a hilarious evening when you, your friends or someone else gets a chance to showcase their talents, or even flubs.

Once the limited number of parts are filled, we will ask that everyone be seated and the fun will begin.  Your meal will be served at your seated location and different courses served throughout the program.  The entire event will last until approximately 9:30 pm.
